Which browser to use in 2025 to protect your privacy?

(And Why It's Definitely NOT Google Chrome)

Since February 2025, Google has explicitly allowed advertising fingerprinting on its network, reducing privacy guarantees on Chrome and Edge to nothing (🔗 Kaspersky). And that is not all: with the gradual retirement of Manifest V2, blockers such as uBlock Origin stop working in Chrome and other Chromium browsers (🔗 Clubic).

In plain terms: your browser can turn into a Trojan horse for targeted advertising, for the resale of your data, and even for sensitive leaks.

🐥 DuckDuckGo Browser: for minimalists

On mobile above all, it is a good way in: automatic cookie refusal, disposable tabs, and a "Fire" button to wipe everything at once.


🌱 Practical recommendations

  • Beginner: start with Brave or DuckDuckGo. Simple interface, protections built in, no doctorate required.
  • Intermediate user: try LibreWolf or Waterfox for more control while staying on Firefox.
  • Technical profile: Ungoogled Chromium or Mullvad Browser, depending on your preferences (and your patience).
  • Sensitive context: Tor. Nothing else.
