Te Reo Māori — 60-Day Basics
Kia ora, nau mai, haere mai! Welcome. This self-paced course takes you from no prior knowledge of Te Reo Māori to holding simple everyday conversations and understanding the cultural world behind the words.
How the course is built
It follows how languages are actually learned: sounds first, then high-frequency phrases, then the few sentence patterns that let you build your own lines — all recycled and reviewed as you go.
- Start with Module 0 (how to learn + pronunciation). Don't skip it — every later lesson depends on it.
- Each lesson = a short read-aloud lesson + a quiz. Roughly one lesson per 4–5 days over 60 days.
- Say everything out loud. Te Reo is an oral language — your ears and mouth learn faster than your eyes.
- Revisit earlier quizzes a few days later. Spaced repetition is what makes it stick.
